Hello, My name Is Todd Raining Bird…

My love for the outdoors started early and never stopped. Growing up in Southeast Montana, I spent my days chasing trout, pike, bass, and catfish — fishing and hunting were simply a way of life. From whitetail and mule deer to upland birds across the Montana plains, I grew up with a deep respect for the land and everything it provides.
In 2019, I made the move to Klukwan, Alaska, and everything changed. The rivers, the wilderness, the salmon runs, the big game — it was everything a kid from the lower 48 dreams about. I fell in love with it immediately. Alaska has a way of doing that.
I picked up a fly rod for the first time right here in Southeast Alaska, and it hooked me instantly. What started as a new obsession on some of the most productive waters in the world grew into a true passion — and eventually a calling.
Home is now the Chilkat Valley, one of the most breathtaking and wild places on earth. My children are Tlingit, descendants of the people who have been the stewards of this land, these rivers, and these salmon for thousands of years. Guiding here isn't just a job — it's an honor. Every trip is a chance to share what makes this place so special and to carry forward a deep respect for the land and waters that have sustained this community for generations.
Whether you're a seasoned angler or picking up a rod for the first time, I'd love to be your guide. Come experience the Chilkat Valley the way it was meant to be — wild, authentic, and unforgettable.
